Cindy McCain

I think that Cindy McCain is such an outstanding person that this information should be widely spread, instead of the degrading messages that are erroneous and widely circulated.

Cindy McCain
Bet you would have never guessed this one! No matter your
politics. The media will never tell of this, so pass it on.

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy McCain, John's
wife. All I ever saw was this attractive woman standing beside
John. I was surprised how talented and involved with world problems
she is. This is a summary of the article.

She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs
teacher.

America Needs 'Appropriate Change'

Keriann Hopkins writes that Fred Thompson believes: America Needs 'Appropriate Change,'

America doesn't need change so much as it needs to be heading in the right direction, according to former Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson.

Thompson, a former senator from Tennessee, gave delegates to the National Right to Life Convention a lecture on the historical, political, and philosophical underpinnings of true change.

Referring to Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and his now ever-present mantra, "Change We Can Believe In," Thompson said the nation's pressing need is for "appropriate change."

Can Barack Buy the Presidency?

On the money front, how do Sens. Obama and McCain stack up? No contest, it seems. Since the campaign began, Mr. Obama has raised a staggering $295-plus million, versus Mr. McCain's almost $122 million. But that's misleading.

Mr. Obama spent a lot to win the nomination. So how much cash did he and his rival have when the general election effectively began in June? As of May 31, Mr. Obama had $43.1 million on hand while Mr. McCain had $31.6 million – a significant but not overwhelming advantage.

God, Republicans are saps. They think that they’re running against some academic liberal who wouldn’t wear flag pins on his lapel, whose wife isn’t proud of America and who went to some liberationist church where the pastor damned his own country. They think they’re running against some naïve university-town dreamer, the second coming of Adlai Stevenson.

Can Andrea Mitchell Really Believe Clark Was Freelancing on McCain?

Can Andrea Mitchell Really Believe Clark Was Freelancing on McCain?
By Mark Finkelstein | June 30, 2008 - 09:01 ET

Andrea Mitchell depicts Wesley Clark's cracks about John McCain's heroism as a gaffe. Bloopers that will cost him any chance of being picked for the Obama veep slot. But surely the seasoned MSM hand knows better than to imagine that Clark was freelancing. Clark's were anything but impromptu remarks, made, say, late at night to a foreign reporter in a hotel cocktail lounge in some far-flung land. To the contrary, Clark took his shots in the brightest of limelights—those of a Sunday morning talk show—speaking with the venerable Bob Schieffer. Clark was explicitly there as an Obama campaign surrogate.

McCain and Obama Jump to Defend War Record
By DAVID WRIGHT

To this day, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., can't raise his arms above his shoulders because of injuries he suffered serving his country.

Republican nominee fires back at attacks on his Vietnam War record.Shot down on a combat mission in Vietnam, McCain was badly injured and tortured relentlessly for five and a half years in a POW camp. That experience shaped the core of his character. Had he not been through it, he might not be a candidate for president.

Unity Is Not Union
By Cal Thomas

In keeping with his "messiah" image, Barack Obama might have been more at home in Bethlehem, Pa., than in Unity, N.H., when he and his "former" nemesis, Hillary Clinton, opened their new act on the road to mixed reviews.

We are supposed to forget everything they said about each other during the primaries. They didn't really mean it; or did they? This is why so many people are cynical about politicians. You never know if they are telling you what you want to hear, or what they hope you'll swallow in spite of evidence to the contrary.

Haditha: A media-made ‘atrocity’?

Haditha: A media-made ‘atrocity’?

The New York Times referred to the deaths of as many as 24 Iraqi civilians in the town of Haditha as the “defining atrocity” of the Iraq War.

If so, then the Iraq War must be particularly unatrocious. After all, of the eight people charged in the Haditha case, seven have seen the charges dropped for insufficient evidence or actually been found innocent, and the one remaining case is no more likely to produce a conviction than the first seven.

As he leaves the White House at the end of his second term, the President has a poll rating of only 23 per cent, and is widely disliked and even despised. His foreign policy has been judged a failure, especially in view of the long, painful, costly war that he declared, which is still not over.

FISA Compromise Announced

Compromise Announced
by Ericka Andersen

An updated Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was agreed on today by Senate and House members eager to put an almost-unprecedented partisan fight behind them.

FISA, originally enacted in 1978, provides guidelines for authorizing electronic surveillance of foreign agents operating in the United States. The law came under fire when, in 2006, the New York Times published leaks about a top-secret program being conducted by the National Security Agency at the president’s request.

TALKING POINTS: OBAMA ON PUBLIC FINANCING

TALKING POINTS: OBAMA ON PUBLIC FINANCING

Topline Talking Points:

· Barack Obama has revealed himself to be just another typical
politician who will do and say whatever is most expedient for Barack
Obama.

· The true test of a candidate for President is whether he
will keep his word to the American people and Barack Obama failed that
test. He has broken his word to the American people.

· Barack Obama pledged to participate in the public financing
system and his reversal undermines his call for a new type of
politics.

· Barack Obama is now the first presidential candidate since
Watergate to run a campaign entirely on private funds. His actions
undermine a public financing system enacted after Watergate.
